We use zebrafish to study nervous system formation and function in vivo
The tropical zebrafish has a number of qualities that make them a preeminent research model for the study of biological processes . Their small size, optical clarity, and rapid development allow researchers to monitor biological events in real time at high resolution in a manner not easily achieved in other systems. Their availability in large numbers allows us to carry out chemical and genetic screens that aid in drug discovery and the identification of the genetic control of important aspects of nervous system formation, function, and repair.
